On the 10th December 2020, Bordando por la Memoria and Chile Solidarity Network took part in a joint zoom and virtual stitch in, to mark International day for human rights. Chile Solidarity Network gave the current information about the cases of political prisoners from the “estallido” or social unrest and talked about ways we can all support them.
As part of the zoom, Bordando por la Memoria reflected on how international solidarity made an impact for ex political prisoners of Chile’s dictatorship and linked this to today’s struggle for freedom, fair trials, and the political prisoners of the estallido.
During the zoom we called for people to stitch messages of solidarity for the political prisoners and their families. And to share the finished pieces via social networks. Here are a few of the finished pieces.
